What are KP Significators?

In KP astrology, significators are planets that represent or 'signify' specific houses in a birth chart. Unlike traditional Vedic astrology which primarily uses house lordship, KP assigns significations through a four-level hierarchy based on occupation, star-lordship, and ownership.

The strongest signification comes from planets in the star (nakshatra) of a house's occupant (Level 1), followed by the occupant itself (Level 2). House owners and planets in the owner's star form the weaker levels. This layered approach gives KP its precision in identifying which planets will activate specific life events.

How to Read the Significator Table

The Planet View shows each planet and all the houses it signifies, color-coded by signification level. Planets signifying multiple houses related to an event (e.g., Houses 2, 7, 11 for marriage) become strong candidates for triggering that event during their Dasha-Bhukti periods.

The House View reverses the perspective — for each house, it lists all planets that signify it and at what level. This is useful when analyzing a specific life area: find the house, identify its strongest significators, and check if those planets are active in the current Dasha period.
