Q: What is the Atmakaraka?

The Atmakaraka ("significator of the soul") is the planet that has travelled furthest into its sign — the highest degree, with Rahu counted backwards. It is the single most important planet in Jaimini astrology, describing the soul's central desire and the lessons this life is built around.

Q: How is Jaimini different from regular (Parashari) astrology?

Both use the same birth chart. Parashari emphasises planets-in-houses, planetary aspects, and the Vimshottari dasha. Jaimini adds the chara karakas, sign-to-sign aspects (rasi drishti), the arudha (how the world perceives a matter), and sign-based dashas such as the Narayana dasha. They are complementary, not contradictory.

Q: Which Jaimini reading does this use?

The classical consensus. Jaimini's source — the Jaimini Sūtras — is terse, and respected lineages read a handful of points differently (whether there are seven or eight karakas, which houses cause argala, a couple of Narayana rules). Where they agree, which is most of the hub, there is just one Jaimini answer and we show it. Where they diverge, an inline note gives the alternative reading and which teacher (Sanjay Rath, P.V.R. Rao, K.N. Rao) holds it. You are not asked to pick a guru — you see the agreed Jaimini, plus the few contested points with attribution.

Q: How is the Narayana dasha computed here?

By the classical Padakrama method: each sign's period is the count from the sign to its lord, and the timeline starts from the stronger of your 1st and 7th. We cross-checked the starting sign against the Sanjay Rath / PVR strength rules and an independent recompute — both agree.

What is Jaimini astrology?

Jaimini is a parallel system of Vedic astrology attributed to the sage Jaimini, a student of Maharishi Parashara. Where the familiar Parashari system reads planets through houses and the Vimshottari dasha, Jaimini works through the chara karakas (movable significators), sign-based aspects (rasi drishti), the arudha (perceived image), and rasi dashas (sign-ruled time periods).
